The Dumbloid Special is a mythical pedal that many guitarists talk about, but that very few in the end have been able to try! Yes, it is a rare pedal that is difficult to obtain. A bit of history, the Shin's Music Dumbloid is the standard-bearer of the Japanese brand. Based on the sound of 5 original Dumble amps that belong to Japanese owners, it mimics the behavior of the Lead channel as faithfully as possible. So +50,000 euros or a few hundred? For ordinary mortals, this is THE solution because it's simply THE best pedal of its kind!

Outwardly, you're going to say "eh oh what are these Dymo labels!". Well it's the desired style and all the brand's pedals are housed in the same boat. For what? It is representative of the Shin's Music philosophy, namely an artisanal production where everything is modifiable and adaptable. This is the case with the Dumbloid which comes in several versions, each benefiting from its own specific little "tweak". The box is of very good quality. It has a relic finish with very nice crackled cellulo varnish. The components are of high quality and the assembly neat. About the circuit, don't ask us what makes it up, everything is "gooped" to keep it secret.
The Dumbloid Special has controls for Drive (gain), Accent (presence & post gain), Tone and Volume. Also, a mini-toggle switch allows you to switch from a Rock to Jazz mod (different compression and output level). Finally, it is powered by 9VDC in the usual way.

Connected to a Two-Rock Classic Reverb which is a clean platform with a lot of headroom, we activate the Dumbloid Special with everything at 12:00 except the volume at 09:00 because it clearly has a level of horse! It's loud!
First thing, it does not blow, it does not "pok" when you engage. Second, no god it's FAT!!! Rarely have we heard an overdrive deliver so much thickness and harmonic content on every note. There are definitely overdriven channel tones from amps that just can't come close to 50% of the organic side of the Dumbloid. The lower mid is huge, the upper mid is sharp, chiseled, with an impressive "honk". It grates, it grips with bite (grit for our English-speaking friends). The dynamics are exceptional, it's like once again, really on an excellent tube amp channel. The Accent and Tone knobs act in total interaction, one allows to manage the compression, the gain post gain and the brilliance, the other to open up the sound more or less. With the Gain at 10-12:00 it already beats hard, but with the Gain at 15:00, not only is there a thickness of madness, but in addition, an almost infinite sustain! We're in the purest Bonamassa, Johnson and other style... It's fluid, linked, with an ultra-wide spectrum... It's also ultra easy and fun to play. Don't throw any more! Surprise, lowering the volume knob, the Dumbloid clean wonderfully, despite a significant amount of gain in reserve.

This Shin's Music Dumbloid Special is a powerful little bomb. Its attack which literally "blooms", its very organic compression and its ultra wide spectrum make it one of the best references on the market. An absolute must have.

The Ironman logo is a serious distraction.
Color: Black/Black/Digital Neg Display
A wonderful watch, with one serious problem: for me at least. The big Ironman Logo at 9 O'clock position is a very confusing element in this otherwise nice design: it competes and completely overwhelms the two Hands read-out. The Logo can give you misleading time: because one confuses it for the Minutes Hand. In a hurry, one is bound to make such mistakes -- call it a human error, but this one can have serious consequences, i.e. reading the wrong time. I have a couple of digital Ironman watches, and Timex does a great job with their usability and quality. This watch is of very high quality too. I love the dual display, and it is very practical. All this watch needs is a removal of the white Ironman logo. That would also make reading the digital readout easier. Please leave the Minute and Hour hand to their exact shape/design -- i.e. don't mess it up. This watch has the potential to be a much more user-friendly watch. I hope the next gen has a simple dial with hopefully even an easier digital readout. Please color the 'Start' Button Orange. I love the Orange Seconds hand. Overall: Size is good. Strap is good. A very good concept digi-ana. Very practical.

Lemon
Color: Red/Black/Digital
I love the watch design, but the watch itself is a complete lemon. I have bought this watch three separate times and it still does not work properly. The first time, the hour and minute hand swung freely in the watch. I returned it directly to Timex. The second time, I bought from Amazon thinking the first watch had defect and the return policy with Amazon is less cumbersome than Timex. Right out of the box, I set the date/time and played around with the features of the watch that I most commonly use, most the chrono function. When I press start on the chrono function, the watch completely blacks out and resets itself somehow, meaning I have to set the date/time again. I sent the watch back to Amazon for a replacement. When the new watch arrived...same issue...the watch resets itself every time I start the chrono function. Very disappointing. Come on, Timex. You are better than this.

Unfortunate
Color: Black/Black/Digital Neg Display
It’s a cool new design but the night light button stopped working within a month of buying it. Shouldn’t happen with a 150$ sports watch
