The Chef's Choice® Rosemary from the Southern Living Plant Collection is what you have been looking for! It was added to the Collection for two main reasons: its compact, controlled mounding growth habit makes it perfect for the low-maintenance gardener, and its higher oil content is ideal for the culinary aficionado!
Furthermore, in spring, this garden gem will produce petite violet-blue flowers. Snip them off and bring them inside as cut flowers. You'll enjoy the fragrance as well as the color interest.
The Chef's Choice Culinary is a drought and heat-tolerant variety with impressive salt tolerance. So coastal gardeners can plant without fear!
We recommend placing it in a garden bed or container garden in or near outdoor living areas to enjoy the sweet fragrance in the breeze.
Reaches a mature size of 1-2 feet high x 1-2 feet wide, with no maintenance required!
Chef's Choice Rosemary Care
Hardy from USDA Zones 7-10, and down to -10° F once fully established in your landscape.
Plant in Full Sun exposure for best results.
Water your new plant 2-3 times per week during the first growing season. During the second growing season, water 1-2 times per week. Once it has over two growing seasons in your landscape, provide supplementary water only in drought.
Prefers rich garden soil with good drainage.
Top dress your soil with 3-4 inches of compost or composted manure yearly to provide steady food for your newest garden addition.
Fertilize with a balanced, organic fertilizer in spring to promote growth and your plant's health. Stop fertilizing in late summer to early fall to encourage the hardening off of foliage for the winter.
Check out another exciting Southern Living Plant Collection perennial, the Bells of Fire Tecoma!
