The Fairy Castle Cactus is a captivating and unique miniature columnar cactus known for its whimsical, architectural form. It is a slow-growing cultivar of the species Acanthocereus tetragonus, a member of the Cactaceae family.
Its most distinctive feature is its miniature, multi-branched growth habit, where numerous vertical stems of varying heights grow tightly together, creating a clumping form that strongly resembles the turrets and towers of a fairytale castle—hence its common name. The stems are typically green, have five sides, and are lined with short, woolly, white spines along the ribs.
This is a slow-growing cactus that will take many years to reach its full potential size. The dwarf nature of the 'Fairy Castle' cultivar keeps it a manageable size for indoor pots.
