This romantic vintage red velvet dress was custom-made in the late 1930s (possibly early 1940s), and is entirely one-of-a-kind. The maxi-length crushed red velvet is so rich. It features a gathered empire waist, with long tailored sleeves that come to a point at the cuff. It was reworked and modernized around the 1970s, with a zipper added in the back, making it easier to wear. Because of the empire waist, this can also be an incredible vintage maternity dress. Closes in the back with a zipper.

The Antique Victorian Heart Locket pictured is also available. 

Measurements: This will best fit a size X-Small, Small and possibly Medium; please refer to below measurements. It is smaller through the shoulders and chest, with more flexibility through the waist and hips.
Chest: 37"
Empire waist/underbust: about 29", gathering offers some forgiveness there
Hips are open up to 45"
Length: 53"


Good vintage condition overall; there were some repairs made to the fabric at the bottom skirt towards hem. I love these hoodies and actually have a few of them in my wardrobe - I would give them a 5-star as they're very comfortable, hold-up well to wear and tear, and they're pretty warm... They don't shrink or bleed dye in the wash, great stuff. HOWEVER! They recently started sewing the drawstring in, which is really annoying... I wear the XXL size and the hood is still a bit small for my dome, so I typically don't need the drawstring, but now I can't remove it without trying to remove the stitching and damaging the hood or cutting the ends off, leaving most of them inside the hood - meaning you can't replace the drawstring should you want to (which sometimes I do, like if I'm skiing or what not)... I also work with power tools, which make loose ends like drawstrings outright dangerous, so I really need to be able to remove them easily - I would give these hoodies a 5-star if they stopped sewing the drawstring in
