Disana Boiled Wool Sleeping Bag - wearable blanket. GOTS certified for purity and safety. Made in Germany.  Unlike other wool sleep bags, it does not contain silicone or polymer resins. Soft wool jersey interior helps keep things dry. Wool is naturally temperature-regulating for a good sleep.  TOG value 1.7  Weight 420 g/m²

Size 2,  80 cm,  6 - 18 months,  Length 31.5"

Disana wools are made from fine merino wool are ideal for meeting the high warmth needs of babies and toddlers. Pure merino wool traps thousands of tiny air bubbles between the fibers, forming an insulating layer and preventing body heat from escaping. This keeps wool clothing warm without overheating.

We are convinced that our organic wool has its own unique "vibrancy," which can be felt when wearing our disana clothing. This vibrancy has a stimulating, but also calming and relaxing effect on the wearer of wool clothing.  Disana uses only the finest wool from merino sheep in our disana products. The hair of this breed of sheep, with a diameter of just a few micrometers, is so thin that it cannot stand up on its own. This means that the wool hairs always lie flat and only touch the skin with their long sides, not with the prickly fiber tips. This is a truly "subtle" difference from many other types of wool.

Note from Karen: I love the purity of the fabrics and that is isn't superwash. The warmth of boiled wool is not at all like sweaty polyester. Wool breathes and regulates body temperature. I am convinced that my babies sleep better in wool and natural fibers, perhaps because they are neither too hot nor too cold in it. This really does have that Goldilocks effect of "just right". There is something amazing and superior about merino wool. This is not intended as a diaper cover. It is clothing.

Don't confuse this with thin, lightweight washable wool sacks. This wool is more substantial. I keeps its shape and lays where it ought to be as baby moves around. It contains a lot of wool.  The weight is just right for both warmth, breathability and a feeling of security. Babies really do soothe easily in wool!

The front zipper opens up all the way for easy access to baby. The top of the zipper is covered. Soft organic wool jersey interior helps keep things dry. Made without sleeves for freedom of movement.

Hand wash only. Made in Germany.

All of our stock has the zipper cover near the baby's chin. These are much nicer than they look in the pictures. Grey shown on the baby is size one.

What is Boiled Wool?  Boiled refers to the way the wool is processed. It is not the same as "superwash" wool which involves chemicals and coatings. Boiled wool is a versatile fabric that has been used for centuries.  Boiled wool is created by a process called fulling, which involves washing and agitating the fabric in hot water. This process causes the wool fibers to shrink and interlock, resulting in a denser wool that is soft and not itchy.

GOTS certified wool and organic cotton means no worries about safety.

  • Warmth: Boiled wool is an excellent insulator yet it doesn't get too hot because it breathes
  • Breathability: allows moisture vapor to escape
  • Water resistance: The interlocked fibers of boiled wool create a natural barrier that is resistant to water penetration. This helps keep sheets dry in case of a leak.
  • Durability: The fulling process makes boiled wool more durable and more resistant to pilling. Pass this lovely item down to future children.
  • No polymer resins:  Wools that can be machine washed on warm have been processed in a different way than this item.  With the other kind, the fibers may be coated with a thin polymer resin or the fibers have been treated with chlorine to remove their scales. The polymer resin on superwash is likely a thin coating of a plastic-like material applied to the wool fibers in order to prevent it from felting when washed.  Boiled wool is not coated. It is the real deal. Disana GOTS certified wools must be hand washed.

Washing is infrequent. Hand washing is easier than it may seem.  I, Karen, really enjoy hand washing this lovely garment once in a while. Wash only if very soiled, otherwise just air out and re-use it.  That's even easier than machine washing. If there is a leak and the cotton interior gets wet, just turn it inside out and rinse the cotton out well. It's not that hard and you can enjoy that the sheets stayed dry.

Warm boiled wool on the outside, soft organic grey jersey knit wool inside. Wool is very good at balancing out the temperature; you are usually not too warm or too cold wearing it. An extra fine organic cotton lining on the inside allows the child to sleep in peace. Thanks to the long zip in the front, the sleeping bag can be opened wide. This makes it easier to place your child inside when she is asleep. A priceless advantage for little ones after a long day of adventures, play and discovery.

Note from Karen:  Green Mountain Diapers does not sell anything made with superwash wool. Why? Purity. Coating wool with silicone or polymer resins is not the same as boiled wool. Besides, when I wash a product with superwash treatment, I can smell the chemical odor. (My very sensitive sense of smell is my "superpower"). Plus, I enjoy hand washing wool. It doesn't need to be done often, but it is satisfying and enjoyable when I do hand wash my wools. If I'm going to choose natural wool, I want it to actually be a natural fiber, not just made from a natural fiber that has then been chemically processed, coated with silicone or polymer-something-or-other and changed.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE Jillian West and her books!!! I’m so happy I already bought book two and now I have to buy the others for the Assurance Security series!! Not gonna lie Val kind of annoyed me at the beginning but she grew on me!! Her men are chef’s kisses!!! Holt annoys me some but I can let it slide. I already bought part two so I’m going to be reading that in between work phone calls!!!! DON’T TELL MY BOSS 😂😂😂😂

Baby bumps and bodyguards
Format: Kindle
Dark, emotional, and unexpectedly tender, Not Ready is an omegaverse romance that delivers found family feels, fierce protectiveness, and a very pregnant heroine who refuses to break. Vale’s on the run from a stalker, but lands in the arms of three private security alphas, cue the swoony tension, fake marriage twist, and slow-burn heat. It’s a little gritty, a little soft, and a whole lot addictive. If you love protective alphas, high stakes, and heroines with quiet strength, this one’s a must-read.

Strong Omegaverse Comfort and a Attention Grabbing Plot
Format: Kindle
Jillian West never misses when it comes to Omegaverse, and Not Ready is no exception. This story was the perfect blend of cozy comfort and emotional depth while still delivering a strong plot. Vale is such a powerful heroine, she is strong, capable, and determined but I love that she still allows her pack to love and take care of her. It’s that balance of independence and vulnerability that makes her so relatable. The relationship dynamics were amazing: Bishop is steadfast and completely head over heels, Mercy is skeptical but protective in his own way, and Holt is the hesitant one whose slow fall is so satisfying to watch unfold. The romance hits that sweet spot between insta-love and cautious build, keeping me hooked the entire way through. And that ending. Oh my god, the cliffhanger! I need the next book in this duet immediately.

Interesting
Format: Kindle
So I will say I enjoyed the story, for sure had its moments where it dragged but it was a great story. I really liked that omegas picked their alphas/make the pack. Normally the Alphas make it and the omega fits in with them which is great but I enjoyed this new version where all the power basically went to the omega. It was a nice change of pace. I can admit some of the weird bedroom stuff with her being pregnant was odd, it’s really not hard to do stuff when pregnant (I know I’ve had two and it’s normal and even encouraged at the end especially if you want the baby out). But I like the story as a whole and will read the second, I do hope the next one isn’t dragged bc it stopped being action or tense after she met her alphas and I don’t think it was brought up or properly done when they tried to do it. More sweet after she left.

I’m a little disappointed.
Format: Kindle
I usually like Jillian West’s books but this one was missing a lot for me. The pregnancy didn’t come across as real. She’s on her feet for 12 hour days but is perfectly healthy at 8 months pregnant? Yet the week she moves in all of a sudden she’s not? She is planning on actually running during one of the plot buildups. But at 8 months pregnant that’s incredibly hard to do. The lack of breathing ability and lung space, the change in body center, mass, and gravity. All of it prohibits running, unless you’re an athlete this didn’t come off as at all realistic. I didn’t feel any connection with the alphas. There wasn’t any emotional connection. It could be because of the tense it was written in. But I didn’t get any deep feelings out of this. It came across as checking off boxes. Even the spicy scenes weren’t really believable for me. I wanted to see them fall for her, and it just kind of all fizzled. Even Bishop. One thing I did really like was the ending. I did not see it coming and I’m interested in reading book two because of it. But on the whole this book was mostly disappointing for me.
