Among the knives in Gerber's Bear Grylls Survival Series, nothing tops the Ultimate Knife. Its carefully thought out design is a collaboration between Gerber and Bear, full of innovations that aren't featured in any of the fixed blade knives in the market today.
The knife has a drop point blade with a partially serrated edge, made of high carbon stainless steel. It has a razor sharp edge that can even cut through rope as well as great edge holding capability. Its ergonomic handle has a textured rubber grip that provides maximum comfort and prevents slippage. The Ultimate Knife also features a pommel made of stainless steel located at the butt end of the handle, designed for hammering, pounding, and breaking things. In addition, an emergency whistle is incorporated into the lanyard cord.
The Ultimate Knife comes with a sheath with its own innovations. It carries a fire starter rod made of Ferrocerium that locks into the sheath. The striker notch is found on the blade's back. Another innovation incorporated into the sheath is a built-in diamond sharpener located on its back for on-the-go sharpening. The sheath itself is made of military grade nylon that's lightweight and resistant to mildew. The Ultimate Knife also comes with Bear's Priorities of Survival pocket guide which is located inside a pouch sewn into the sheath's back.
