The synthetic blend formula provides good protection for engines with significant wear. The 20W-50 viscosity helps reduce oil consumption in higher mileage engines. I use nothing but Castrol GTX high mileage 20w50 oil and Wix oil filters in my 2000 Nissan Frontier with 317,000 highway miles on the engine. I change the oil every 3,000 miles and engine is still going strong!
