Alocasia Jacklyn Care

We put together FULL Alocasia growing instructions for you. Give it a read!

🪴 Alocasia Full Growing Guide and Care Information

In that guide you will learn how much sun and water Alocasia plants need to grow happy and healthy. You will be a pro, able to keep plants alive for years.

Alocasia Jacklyn Light Needs

Alocasia Jacklyn plants thrive in medium to bright indirect sunlight. Be aware that they are not suited to low light or direct sunlight - which may scorch their leaves. If the area your alocasia is in has not enough light, consider using a grow light to boost its foliage.

Alocasia Jacklyn plants need bright indirect sunlight to grow strong. Placing them 2 to 3 feet from a window will supply them with enough to grow big and strong.

Be sure that direct sunlight does not come in contact with the leaves, as this could burn the leaves. In the wild, alocasia plants live on the forest floor and receive diffused sunlight, so it's best to recreate that in our homes.

How to Water an Alocasia Jacklyn

When watering an Alocasia Jacklyn, you have to find a balance between providing it enough water for the plant to thrive, but not too much that it leads to over-watering.

Before watering, stick your finger about an inch into the soil. If the soil feels dry, it is time to add water. When you pull your finger out, if soil is stuck to it, your plant has some moisture left and may not need watering yet.

When watering your Alocasia Jacklyn, we suggest using lukewarm water as it soaks into the soil much faster. Be sure to water your plant thoroughly and saturating the soil. Filtered water is the best choice, but you may use tap water if you leave it out for 24 hours beforehand.

Over-watering an alocasia can lead to root rot, which is a common problem for the Jacklyn. Watering your plant when the soil is dry to the touch, and allowing the top inch of soil to dry out before watering again, can help avoid over-watering and root rot.

Over time you will learn how much water your plant uses, and a proper watering schedule is important for the health of your Alocasia Jacklyn.

How Much Humidity an Alocasia Needs

Your Alocasia appreciates being placed in a humid environment. You can easily grow an Alocasia Jacklyn in Canada, but we have some advice.

Like most house plants, extra humidity is always a good option. Placing your plant in a bathroom with a bright window, or in your kitchen, can help provide it extra humidity that a living room may not have.

One trick plant experts use is to place it close to other plants so they can create and share humidity amongst themselves.

Temperature

Your Alocasia Jacklyn will thrive in temperatures ranging from 18-25ºC. Avoid abrupt temperature changes and cold drafts.

Durable and Rugged
Color: Black
I've had it for a few weeks now. It was a replacement I bought after buying several vinyl type covers. This one is a good gauge of plastic and rubber. The rubber seems pretty strong and it protects the iPad well on the corners and back. The back is mostly covered except for the Apple logo in the center. In addition to protecting the corners and also protects the camera lens as the rubber after insulation is a little bit higher than the lens so when you put this down, it's not going to scratch the lens. It has a pen slot, which I like and plenty of room to grip the device if I'm carrying it from place a place or when I'm using it, I can grip the edge and not touch the screen. One of the things I would've liked included is a screen protector, but nothing covers the screen. I also miss the folio type cover because the screen will gather dust now. But, Apple screens are fairly durable so I'm not too worried about breaking it. It was easy to install. It came in as it came in a couple of pieces that you just pressed together. All the controls are obvious as they are under the rubber, but they look like keys. One more thing I might bring up is the charging port. It's easy to get to even though it's a little deep. On my iPad the touch sensor is on the on off button and it is a little harder to do than if I didn't have any case on it, but that is to be expected. It also has an easel that unfolds from the back if you want to sit it up, but I don't use it for watching anything since I have a real TV set. So far I like it and I'm glad I bought this as I don't think it's going to wear out as quickly from me handling it as the others did. The value was good as long as it lasts.
