Donkey’s Tail: This Sedum’s waxy, blue-green leaves form compact trails that can reach lengths of up to a foot long! Resembling its close cousin, Burro’s Tail, this low-maintenance succulent has shorter, more plump leaves that we find even more adorable. We can see why ‘Burrito’ is a must-have classic for brightening up any home or garden.

Plant Care Notes

Donkey’s Tail thrives in bright, indirect sunlight and can handle a little more light if gradually introduced. Keep it near a sunny windowsill to bring out its best color and keep it’s compact growth. Like most succulents, it prefers a warm spot, so keep it away from freezing temperatures.

When it comes to watering, think “less is more.” Let the soil dry out completely before giving it a deep soak. Overwatering is its worst enemy, so err on the side of caution, and reduce watering in the winter. Finding a well-draining soil with some added perlite or pumice so that the ratio is about 70% organic to 30% inorganic.

Propagating Donkey’s Tail is fun and rewarding! Snip off a few stems, let them dry for a day or two, then plant them straight down into soil. And don’t worry if the leaves fall off while being handled, you can simply take those and lay them on top of soil. They’ll root in no time!

Chewing pups love them.
My 8 mo Morkie loves them . The other two won't touch them . They're heavier than I expected but Belle doesn't seem to mind that. Great for dogs that like to chew!

Meh..., I'll stick to fave pig ear chews
Only 4 for $6, idk these don't last long. I wanted to try them because my dogs love being spoiled but I think I'll stick to pig ears at a discount from Petco. They are very hard, some chews crumble or soften as the dogs knaw at them during the day. However these chews didn't last longer than 10 minutes compared to actual no rawhide alternatives I have used. These didn't do that. No upset stomach so that's a plus. The smell was similar to pig ears also, texture was different. No slimy residue w/ it unlike with the regular 100% pig ears. Helped with plague build up but there is still plague on insicor tooth. Probably won't buy again, meh.
