Specifically, the O people extended the distance from the top of the nose piece to the top of the lens. Glasses that have gotten this treatment are called EV, for extended View. They EV’d so you could be in the drops and have more protection when rolling your eyes up to see what’s in front of you. The Path version is shorter vertically than the Pitch on the bottom of the lens, so it’s better for people who want less coverage or have had the experience of longer performance lenses brushing their cheekbones.
There are several lens styles and tints to choose from. Prizm, Photochromic, Polarized, and then Oakley’s wide range of standard HDO tints. Prizm is a new line of lenses that are designed for a specific sport environment. There are both Road and Trail Prizm lenses. The point of Prizm is to filter colors you’d find in your specific environment to maximize contrast. the road lens makes yellow pop, while the mtb lens amplifies greens and browns. Photochromic allows for 23-69% light transmission. Polarized takes glare off things like water, ice, and glass. Lenses are interchangeable.
The frame is the classic Radar design, with lightweight O Matter material curved and shaped to hug your face and your head. The frame itself is also shaped to work with the lenses to allow air flow through the top without affecting vision or sending stuff into your eyes. Sticky Unobtanium rubber covers the nose pad and ear socks so that the glasses, once put in place, don’t move until you want them to.
The Oakley EV Path Glasses come with a spare nosepiece, a microfiber cleaning bag, and a Sport Soft Vault. The lenses are interchangeable.
