The Reaction Hybrid Eagle 500 seamlessly incorporates the high-quality Bosch e-bike technology with Cube’s quality frame and build process. Cube have put a lot of effort into ensuring that this is not just a hybrid with a motor tacked on, as the bike has been specifically built to give you the most comfortable and real riding experience you can have on an e-bike. Bosch's Performance CX (75Nm) Cruise motor and PowerTube 500 battery is integrated so well that, many people won't even realise you're riding an e-bike, yet you can still ride further and faster than your friends, with less effort. The Bosch CX drive unit is positioned ideally for comfort and performance, connected to chainstays designed specifically to allow clearance for 2.6 inch tyres and running back to a 12mm Boost thru-axle.

Bosch e-bike components are German engineering at its finest and they really are setting the standard in e-bike engines and batteries. Bosch and Cube have combined to get every aspect right, the fully integrated battery and motor are protected from the elements, and the battery can be charged without being removed which is a very handy feature.

Features

Easy Mount Kickstand: The Easy Mount Kick Stand is a new system developed by CUBE, in which the base of the stand is mounted from below to a fitting plate integrated to the frame and fixed with a through bolt. This makes the kick stand extremely stiff, stable and solid through the enlarged contact areas between base and frame.

Frame Safe System: To protect our frames the mounting thread is in the hanger and not in the frame as usual. In case of a crash, this hanger can be easily and quickly replaced by a new one.

Integrated Cable Routing: Cables are protected from dirt for longer life and weight is saved as there is no external housing and the bike has a clean, sleek appearance.

Agile Ride Geometry: We increased fork offsets to achieve the same trail as our 26in bikes without having to steepen the head angle. Secondly we shortened the chain stays without compromising the seat angle and invented a patented construction to mount the front derailleur to increase tyre clearance while keeping a conventional seat angle, for a perfect riding position. We kept the BB height the same as on our 26in bikes. These measures lead to a natural riding position.

Optimal Drive Position: CUBE developed an innovative new frame construction for the new Ebike generation: simultaneously being the cradle for the electric motor, the pivot for the rear link and the seat of the shock eyelet, the very complex area of the bottom bracket is made of two forged halves. The groove in the front section together with the specially formed down tube is home for the power pack which in this way has a very low position in the frame triangle. The positive outcome is an extremely low center of gravity supporting an agile riding characteristic while achieving a super rigid bottom bracket area.

Wet Paint Surface: On polished, brushed aluminium and all HPC frames, the logos and graphics are applied in multi-layer wet paint to save weight.

Smooth Welded: This elaborate procedure with doubled weld seams has two advantages: On the one hand, it improves the firmness of the weld seams and minimizses the load peaks on the tube welds through energy flow and on the other hand, it helps the frame to a better and more organic look due to the smooth and hardly noticeable welds.

Boost 148mm: Boost 148mm technology provides precise handling, on every trail, in every situation. The hub flange moves 3mm towards the outside on both sides. It increases the stiffness of a 27.5? wheel by 14% and, for a 29er wheel, by 21%. The reason is the spoke’s wider support in comparison to the 142mm hubs used previously.
